blogsHello!Submitted by x0xNatix0x313 on November 19, 2008 - 10:29pm.
Hello everyone! I'm a freshmen at a community college near my home in New York. I've been assigned a research paper and i picked Alternative energy/Sustainability as a topic. I was just wondering if anyone has anything to say about the matter. I know i can just google away and stick my face in a book all day but i want to know what other people in the world besides me think. I'm open to anything you have to tell me.
Thanks.

NANP CONFERENCESubmitted by healingdesertwillow on October 30, 2008 - 3:13pm.
This past weekend I was blessed enough to have an opportunity to attend the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP) yearly conference. This non-profit organization is dedicated to enhancing the integrity of the holistic nutrition profession through self-governance, educational standards, a rigorous code of ethics and professional registration of holistic nutritionists. Many of the speakers lead excellent lectures packed full of fantastic information.
Making a difference in the world one day at a time. Approaching each action with a present mind.Submitted by healingdesertwillow on October 9, 2008 - 1:23pm.
(1 vote) Life is beautiful. No question about that. But life is also full of terrifying and depressing circumstances. With the constant reminders of environmental and economic devastation knocking at our door, it can be difficult to feel like there is an even slight possibility of creating change. Witnessing the turmoil that our environment endures has left me, at times, feeling heavy and hopeless. The “big picture” can be foggy and feel far out of reach.

To reward consumers for making green-friendly purchases, the UK's Co-Operative bank recently began issuing its "Think Credit Card." The card is made from PETG plastic which is a bit more eco-friendly than the usual PVC plastic that other cards use.

Recalled Toys: Can Those Trusted Toys Be Trusted Anymore?
By

'Tis the season to be careful. Recently, recalled toys have become big news: So far this year Mattel has recalled almost 19 million toys for inherent dangers from lead paint, to small loose parts particularly magnets that can be easily swallowed. If two or more are swallowed they can play havoc with a child's internal organs. From Thomas the Tank Trains, to Dora the Explora, and even Sesame Street, this holiday season its buyer beware and who can you trust, like never before. ( categories: )
October is Fair Trade MonthSubmitted by worldgoods on October 2, 2007 - 7:10am.
Even though we all do our best to buy locally, there are always products that we just won't be able to find at the local farm. Sugar, rice, vanilla, coffee, and many other foods that we love are grown in distant locales, making it difficult to determine how sustainably they are produced.

The High Price of PrivilegeSubmitted by CitizenGoat on September 20, 2007 - 10:50am.
I live with two other people and five animals in a 1,400 square-foot house that includes my workplace. I know that compared to most of the world I live like a queen. I’m aware of this fact every day and I’m constantly grateful (except on really cranky days).
