This project aims to help environmental and similar organizations create worthwhile roles for people inspired enough to volunteer, and to encourage volunteers to play more worthwhile roles.

The Problem: When most potential volunteers fail to show up, organizations don't get benefit from their volunteer programs and don't take the real volunteers seriously.

A Solution: Find a way for volunteers to gain a reputation for committment, and for organizations to gain a reputation for providing worthwhile opportunities and training.

A new idea is being floated: to craft an agreement between people who want to make a difference and organizations which need volunteers. Volunteers promise to meet their commitments, and to have an online track-record. Organizations promise to give volunteers worthwhile roles, especially once they have a proven track record of showing up. This is a brand new idea, jump in, we need more minds!  Expand the scope of this project - what else is needed to help orgs and volunteers communicate?
