bluecobaltprofessionalA lifelong advocate of environmental awareness, conscious living, and conscious business, I work to bring together my entrepreneurial spirit, diverse life experiences, marketing acumen, online expertise, driving passions and long-term vision to help create a better world and a more sustainable way of living for all. When I logged onto the Web for the first time in October of 1994, my initial reaction to this new medium of communication was, "This is going to change the entire world, I have to be a part of this!" Thus beginning a decade of dedication to the utilization of this new technology to effect positive change, through placing ever-increasingly powerful tools of connection and communication into the hands of as many people as I possibly can. In May of 1995, I gave birth to one of the first examples of social networking on the web, GS Magazine, exploring questions of spirituality, sexuality, and gender identification. A highly interactive experience, with both user driven and editorial content, it was one of the first sites on the Web to receive sponsorship from major advertisers through the purchase of banner space. I spent much time in the beginning introducing ad agencies in New York to the Web, convincing them that it wasn't a passing fad, and educating them on why their clients should have a presence. All of this paid off, however, as GS Magazine was chosen as one of the "Top 100 Most Successful Web sites of 1996" by Jupiter Communications. GS Magazine received numerous awards and recognition for it's design and features, and I soon found myself in demand by companies seeking my Web design talents. As the large media companies came online, and the climate of the Web shifted, I decided to let go of GS Magazine and begin using my abilities in a new way. I began a career as a Web designer, programmer, and online marketing consultant. Through producing work for clients such as Conde Nast and Nickelodeon, I honed my skills and began laying the groundwork for the development of my later work. In 2002, after relocating to Los Angeles, I shifted my focus to begin applying all that I had learned into a new arena, and founded a non-profit organization known as Theurgy Foundation, later to be called Living Paradise. I designed, programmed, and oversaw a new social network called Theurgy.com, a community for the exploration of conscious living. While well received and loved by it's member base, it was an idea that was ahead of it's time in many ways. While on sabbatical in British Columbia, I spent time living in a beautiful intentional community in the woods in the mountains, learning first hand about issues of community, sustainability, conscious living, and new forms of economy and social structure. Upon returning to Los Angeles, I applied what I had learned in Canada to become the driving force in starting several programs to educate others on environmental issues, feed organic food to the homeless, and explore methods of sustainability in an urban environment. I've grown, I've matured, and I'm more focused on just being in this moment and creating positive change to the best of my abilities. And now, a new synthesis has occured. A rebalancing of the two polarities of for-profit and non-profit. A more holistic approach. A social enterprise that combines everything that I do, bringing all of my knowledge and experience to Dianovo, merging enterprise with social commitment, environmental concern with appropriate use of technologies, and marketing savvy with visions of a better tomorrow. I do believe that a new day is truly upon us, and how we come through this is up to all of us. Together we can create a future of harmony and sustainability. nonprofit profileDianovo FoundationA new day is dawning for a green and conscious world.Jun 7 2006 relating
friends single either either occasional drinker i don't smoke awake After working very hard to be a "spiritual" person my entire life, studying everything from wicca to ceremonial magic to esoteric christianity to shamanism, and worshipping the Mother and the Father in many aspects, including being a devotee of Ammachi, it all came crashing down in Oct 2004. I no longer make any attempt to be "spiritual". I feel that working to be or become more "spiritual" is an attempt on the part of the ego to feel like it is special and good, and to fuel a constructed belief that it understands what it is, or what is going on. I no longer feel like I have any idea what is going on, or what I am for that matter. I don't think any thing in the universe does. And, I'm relaxing into that more and more each day. I know that everything is one, and that I am you, and you are me. We all arise from the same essence. We are all expressions of that essence in a seemingly material form. I read the words of buddha, zen masters and others who seem to be awake and clear, such as Adyshanti and Eckhart Tolle, and I do zazen on a fairly regular basis, but I would not call myself "zen buddhist". That wouldl just be another label. My aim is to always be fully present in this moment, and face it as openly, vulnerably, and fearlessly as I can. That's all I think any of us can do. compassion, passion, love, mutual support, honesty, clarity, collaboration compassion, passion, love, mutual support, honesty, clarity, collaboration compassion, passion, love, mutual support, honesty, clarity, collaboration resourcesskillsYears of experience in Web design & programming and graphic design for projects I am creating such as Dianovo.com, and for select clients with a green and conscious focus. To have as low an impact on the environment that I possibly can, and help others to make changes in their lives to do the same. I drive a biodiesel powered VW Jetta. I conserve water, electricity, and all resources. I purchase used when available, and re-use as much as possible. communityI live on a mountain top in the Santa Cruz mountains with 2 amazing women, Michele and Debrae, and their beautiful and talented daughter, Athena. The women own a green construction business that specializes in strawbale. (http://www.buildingnaturally.com) They live in an amazing 2 story strawbale home that they designed and built. I live in a smaller home that was on the property when they purchased it, but has been completely green remodeled. This is a beautiful place to live, and I feel extremely fortunate to be here. We love and support each other as best we can. And, we're surrounded by nature - Pines, Oaks, Redwoods, deer, quail, rabbits, rattlesnakes, a mountain lion, the clear sky, and a view of the bay and ocean.
I am also blessed to be part of a huge extended family of what I would call modern tribal people. This family is mostly concentrated on the West Coast in the US and Canada, but extends around the world. We are an extremely eclectic group of individuals, each working to live in as conscious a manner as possible, and promote positive change in the world, while being as true to our selves as we can. Our love for each other. The incredible amount of talent that each individual carries and expresses. The music and the dancing. We see things pretty clearly, and communicate our experiences just as clearly. We love and create beautiful music. We care for each other. We have room for a few more people here on the mountain. We could use some more male energy. Our homes are built to take advantage of the sun for natural heating, and the wind from the ocean for cooling. The main house has a solar water heating system. My house is plumbed for greywater, and we're laying a system to water the fruit orchard. Our water comes for a well. We use only organic products, eat only organic food, and limit what we purchase. We prefer to re-use and recycle than purchase new. Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org) is a blessing! We have an extensive vegetable and herb garden that will provide much of our food needs this Summer and Fall. We've begun keeping our own bees, and will use the gifts of honey in our food, and the gifts of wax to make candles. We're working toward installing solar and wind power systems to get completely off the grid. Contact Info
