Business Description:

Moon Bees is a Work-at-Home business. I sew all products in our home amid 4 busy children, 1 cat, 2 dogs, 3 birds, and 2 fish! We offer a variety of sewn items for families. Our main products at this time are Household Hemp, cloth for women, and comfortable children's clothing.

 

Business Specialties: Our main focus is the Household Hemp line. These are Hemp/Organic Cotton Fleece cloths ranging from 4x6 to 12x12 inches for a wide variety of uses around the home. Some of the most popular uses are: kitchen cloths, family wipes (cloth toilet paper), and baby wipes. I am also starting to focus more on cloth for women and sewing natural, hemp and cotton menstrual pads using the Fern and Faerie pattern.

What sets this business apart:

I feel very passionately about Voluntary Simplicity, and I believe that my business is different because I "practice what I preach".

I have started the journey in my home and hope to spread the word! I want my children to know that "keeping up with the Joneses" is not the road to happiness. My Household Hemp line is a reflection of what I have done in my own home- using cloth home products instead of disposable versions.

I also feel very strong about children's "fashion". Children's clothing should allow a child look like a child, not a mini-adult or a teenager. Clothing should be comfortable, long-lasting, and modest. This is what I love so much about Fern & Faerie's patterns and why I choose to use them in my home and for sale.

Business green and conscious mission statement: My business is committed to helping the planet by using eco-friendly materials and creating products that are reusable to replace the disposable.
Doing business in a green and conscious manner: I buy as many organic fabrics as possible for use with Moon Bees. I create products that can be used for years, eliminating trash and helping the consumer save money. Moon Bees website is hosted by Watersweb Hosting which uses renewable energy.
Growing greener and more conscious: We have added a partner to our site, Herbaluna Naturals, who will be selling organic items on Moon Bees in place of the conventional products we have sold in the past (bath and body, herbal remedies).
